Please note that this is a voluntary and unpaid position.
On completion of 208 hours duty, each Garda Reserve member is entitled to claim a set annual allowance, the amount of which is determined by the Department of Finance. The Revenue Commissioners have deemed the annual allowance payable to Garda Reserve members as taxable. The allowance received by Reserve members is the net amount after tax.
