Cork City Council is a large urban local authority which employs over 1200 staff across 40 locations within the city. In total, there are 31 elected members of the Council representing six wards in the city. The Council has an annual revenue budget of almost €153 million for 2017 and provides a wide and diverse range of public services. The Council is committed to increasing its capacity and capability for change to deliver improved public services.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Head of Human Resource Management and Organisational Development will be expected to fulfil a key leadership role in Cork City Council. S/he will lead and direct a programme of Strategic HR transformation work to develop and implement a best practice HR Strategy. In addition, s/he will design and facilitate the implementation of change management programmes to support cultural and organisational change and performance improvement in line with organisational values.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in HR leadership at a senior level in a large and complex organisation in either the public or private sector. S/he will have a strong record of developing and leading strategic change management programmes, as well as delivering operational excellence.
