The Official Language Act

Official Language

The Official Language Act 2003 ensures that Government Departments and public bodies including the Public Appointments Service provide services in the Irish language.

We provide Irish and English in our announcements, signage and advertisements. Our correspondence received in Irish is answered in Irish. Our communications to the public are in Irish and English and our documents are produced in Irish and English.

For more information, please read the: Official Language Act

The Official Language Act requires us to prepare a Scheme in which we will specify the services we intend to provide: in Irish only; in English only; and in both Irish and English.
