publicjobs welcomes Minister Jack Chambers, TD to Chapter House

While here, Minister Chambers was given a tour of the building with publicjobs CEO, Margaret McCabe, and met with various colleagues to discuss the important, impactful work we do here at publicjobs.

Minister Chambers was also presented with an exciting roundup of our yearly figures. From 529 competitions run to over 30,000 followers gained across our social media platforms, we were delighted to be able to present these successes to the Minister upon his visit to publicjobs.

Our CEO, Margaret McCabe, is due to retire at the end of the year after more than 46 years’ service in the organisation, with her journey within the civil service spanning from Clerical Assistant in 1979 to Chief Executive Officer, a position which she achieved in 2022.

Speaking at the event, Minister Chambers said:

"I want to take a moment to recognise the important work that publicjobs does as the central hub for recruitment, assessment, and selection across the civil and public service. The reputation you’ve built for independent, merit-based recruitment is vital - not just for delivering essential public services, but for strengthening the capability of our civil and public service overall.

I want to pay tribute to Margaret as she prepares for retirement. Margaret, you’ve played a huge role in shaping publicjobs into the organisation it is today. Thank you all again for the warm welcome. I wish publicjobs and every one of you continued success in the years ahead."

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Minister Chambers for taking the time to visit us.

We would also like to wish our CEO, Margaret McCabe, the very best as she prepares for retirement. Her dedication and passion throughout her civil service career will leave a lasting mark on publicjobs.
