Opportunities for Senior Crime and Data Analysts - Meet Our Analysts

Meet our Analysts

An Garda Síochána has substantial complex data assets, both directly and externally sourced. The Garda Síochána Analysis Service (GSAS) is the centre of expertise for turning data into information, insight and ultimately foresight. Reporting to an Assistant Principal Officer within the GSAS, Senior Crime and Data Analysts provide specialist analytical support for operational and strategic policing. They combine and analyse data from multiple sources to create information and knowledge which includes support for specific criminal investigations or for policing operations to target particular issues. They also contribute to the growth of GSAS through using and developing analytical techniques and systems to support crime analysis.

The role of Senior Crime and Data Analyst provides successful candidates with a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of information and the job satisfaction of knowing that they make a valuable contribution to all aspects of operational policing.

Whilst the majority of immediate vacancies are based in Dublin, it is anticipated that there will be a number of posts across all four operational regions of AGS. A panel for each county may be established to fill any future vacancies that may arise.
