About the Roles
The State Examinations Commission (SEC) has responsibility for the operation of the State Certificate examinations. Its remit includes the development, assessment, accreditation and certification of examinations, including the Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied and Junior Cycle examinations.
The Examinations and Assessment Division (EAD) is the professional division of the SEC responsible for ensuring the quality and effective conduct of all of the SEC’s examinations. This involves taking all necessary actions to maintain parity of standards in each subject from year to year and ensuring compliance with the requirements and procedures of the SEC.
The SEC now has vacancies for five Examinations and Assessment Managers (EAM) in its Examinations and Assessment Division. The vacancies are in the areas of Physical Education (with another subject), Translation Service, Research and Development, Drama, Film and Theatre Studies, & Economics or Accounting or Business. These are exciting opportunities for suitably qualified, enthusiastic and committed individuals.

Drama, Film and Theatre Studies
Reporting to an Assistant Head of the Examinations and Assessment Division, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing examinations and other examination related-material and managing the marking of examinations and the appeals process of assigned examinations.

Translation Service
Reporting to an Assistant Head of the Examinations and Assessment Division, the successful candidate and will have overall responsibility for the management and development of the State Examination Commission’s Translation Service, including overseeing the work and providing advice to the SEC on all matters relating to the Translation Service.

Research and Development
Reporting to an Assistant Head of the Examinations and Assessment Division, the successful candidate and will play a key role in designing and implementing a research support structure for the organisation. They will be responsible for developing a programme of research proposals, planning and co-ordinating an annual schedule of research activities and undertaking research directly.
